One imaging platform.
Multiple clinical markets.
MLI® of human skin cancer.
Executive Summary
illumiSonics has developed a proprietary imaging platform, MLI®, that extracts rich molecular information from unstained tissue without consuming the sample. The technology enables virtual histology, virtual IHC, multimodal biomarker generation, and novel diagnostic classifiers from a single scan.
Unlike software-only approaches, the company’s differentiation is rooted in proprietary imaging physics protected by 40+ patents across 12 patent families. The platform supports multiple commercialization pathways across pathology, intraoperative imaging, and ophthalmology.

Targeting Pathology with AID
Our Advanced Imaging Device (AID) replaces destructive, tissue-consuming pathology workflows with multiplexed AI analysis on a single unstained FFPE slide. This preserves scarce tissue for downstream assays and accelerates novel biomarker development. Targeting pharma and CAP/CLIA labs, the platform is commercially derisked: it is actively generating revenue via our Slide Scanning as a Service (SSaaS) model, securing device pre-orders, and driving four proprietary in-house diagnostic programs.

Targeting Mohs Surgery with SID
Our Surgical Imaging Device (SID) targets an uncontested fresh-tissue market. By replacing slow frozen sections with near-instant MLI® scans, the SID dramatically increases Mohs clinic throughput and reduces repeat surgeries. Highly capital-efficient, the SID leverages the exact same validated hardware architecture as our AID, with a clinical feasibility trial scheduled this year with to unlock this high-value surgical market.
Why now?
MLI® has transitioned from hardware development to commercial execution. Invest today to help us scale a derisked, revenue-generating platform.
