Unenhanced MLI® of mouse eye cross section showing ocular anatomy, captured in collaboration with Prof. Kathleen Hill, Western University, Canada.

MLI® of whole mouse eye.
MLI® of whole mouse eye.

Zoom-ins highlight the innate MLI® contrast across the ocular structures including the retina, cornea, and lens. Raw MLI® contrast distinctly highlights retinal layers (including nuclear, plexiform, and photoreceptor layers), and the detailed structure of the cornea and lens.

Samples were originally used in work by Thomas MacPherson and Alex Laliberté, of the laboratory of Kathleen Hill at Western University where they discovered an early time period for therapeutic intervention to prevent retinal cell loss [1].
